Dr. Rani G. Whitfield, a Board-Certified Family Physician with a Certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Sports medicine, is currently in private practice in his native Baton Rouge. He is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge and Meharry Medical College in Nashville. He’s a long-time National Spokesperson for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

Dr Whitfield has appeared on The Tom Joyner Morning Show, the Chuck D Show, Sway in the Morning, MSNBC with Joy Reid/Ed Schultz, and CNN with Sanjay Gupta.

He is currently Vice Chairman of the Southern University Board of Supervisors and a member of the Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Known as Tha Hip Hop Doc, he uses music and medicine in health education. He is married to Kiara Whitfield and the proud father of two.
